On the Road with Darren Lacroix!
Darren came to Newport, RI for some personal coaching with Kim and I and he did a presentation for several of our New England Distributors! Our group even has a cameo in his video below!!

I wanted to thank you both for sharing Darren LaCroix with me and what an honor it was to sit in on his story telling techniques.... We should all become proficient story tellers!
Being a fellow Toastmaster, it was a double treat for me to meet Darren and learn from one of the best! I would encourage people who are serious about building their business to tap into Darren's materials.

What an amazing night with Darren! I truly was nervous about going and stretching myself once again "outside the box" I wanted to just turn my car around and go back home where it was warm, comfortable and make it an early night!
I completely understand the power of telling a story, MY STORY to be more effective with people and not feel so overwhelmed with all that I now know or feel the need to "blah blah blah" all over them.
I can't wait to work on my STORY and share it with you and Kim!

I knew if Chris and Kim invested time and money to train with this man, and then offered a training for us, that it would be well worth my time and money to invest in myself and be there no matter what. An Iron Will
I recently finished reading an oldie but goodie!
It's titled "An Iron Will" by Orison Swett Marden and the entire thing is about sticking with what you set out to do. If you recall the speech Kim and I did at Shine, we talked about this very same thing. To quote his book "...discipline of one's will-power is of supreme moment in relation to success in life....Most men fail, not through lack of education or agreeable personal qualities, but from lack of dogged determination, from lack of dauntless will."
He goes on to say "One of the secrets of a successful life is to be able to hold all of our energies upon one point, to focus all of the scattered rays of the mind upon one place or thing....(because)...the habit of mind-wandering , of worrying about this and that, crowding the thoughts with petty anxieties and jealousies, is a little leak in our mental reservoir, which is constantly sapping our reserve power and lessening the changes of our success."

WOW the second one relates so much to any profession and what I've experienced - real estate, network marketing, etc..
Choose to be a 5%er and watch the others complain about the economy.
By the way, this "Life" is a must read by all - regardless of what you do for a living.

While at the Houston Mastermind event for Network Marketing Professionals, Kim and I picked up a bunch of books.
The one I'm reading right now is a great one for all of you. It's called "Life" by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward. Keep in mind that these authors are also amazing leaders in the profession.

Stay Clear of the Bozo Explosion
In the post "What I learned from Steve Jobs" 10/8/11 at 11:04am that my sponsor Paul Caldwell sent me, one of the points was to "... "Hire A+ players."
Steve believed that A players hire A players- that is people who are as good as they are.
See, generally speaking A players hire people even better than themselves and B players hire C players so they can feel superior to them and C players hire D players. I love their ending statement - "If you start hiring B players, expect what Steve called 'the bozo explosion' to happen in your organization.
Well, in network marketing it's not because we want to feel superior, but rather that it's easier to call a B or C. DON'T. Call A+ players and build a dynast not a bozo explosion.

Darren and Chris went to elementary school together and Darren won the 2001 World Championship Toastmaster Speaking Contest. He is a coach to many executives, professionals, etc. and works with Kim and Chris with their speaking. Be Ready When Opportunity Comes

Entrepreneurs' average household net worth is 5X that of traditional employee
In the USA Today special insert on Network Marketing and Direct Sales on 9/23/11, one of the statistics caught my eye:
"A U.S. Federal Reserve survey shows the average household net worth for entrepreneurs is five-times more than that of traditionally employed. What that means in this economy is business owners are five-times more likely to come out of recession in the black because they created income in their own businesses."
Guys- you don't have to be at the whim of the economy and let it dictate what you can achieve. You CAN experience a financial metamorphosis simply by choosing to engage in our simple pattern of activities AND never giving up!

Break Paradigms if You Want to Have Breakthrough Results!
So many people assume that those on top of their profession simply do things better than everyone else. Not necessarily.
In many cases, they simply do things differently from everyone else.
My real estate coach Mike Ferry used to tell me to look at what all the other realtors are doing and do the complete opposite if I wanted to succeed - so I did.
Brett Hull was an awesome hockey player and he commented about freeing himself up in an open area on the ice in order to receive a pass. Most would think it's about skating faster or being qjicker to get open - he actually learned that it was often about going slower, and always about going at a different speed than others.
Outrageous tennis player John McEnroe broke paradigms with his outbursts and literally changed the entire interst in the game of tennis - intentionally.
So...if you want different results than most that you know and see and hear about - be willing to go in a different direction, be willing to be different...and even after you've broken a paradigm, you absolutely must continue to challenge yourself and if you do not, others will!

Can you change Direction?
I know many people come into the network marketing profession with huge hope to change things over night.
Often times those expectations are mismanaged and the belief dwindles and they drop off.
If there's one thing for sure it's that this profession can and will create a financial metamorphis for you if you'd like it to.
Will it happen over night? NEVER - what business does?
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction over night.
You can start today with one little thing that can help move you in a new direction.

'We're Talking About Practice'
When I talk about discipline and I mention the Power of One Daily Discipline chart, sometimes I hear people comment "That discipline stuff is hard..."
When I look at some of the most successful people in our business they have enormous belief and the ability to be disciplined to carry that belief out. You really do have two choices: You can suffer from either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.
Set yourself up with the proper discipline so you look back 36 months from now and say "I'm super glad I did.....versus...I should have."
