Only Speak to People Wanting to Speak to You
Why bother speaking with people not wanting to speak to you?
Over the years I've found it boring, frustrating and highly unprofitable to speak with people not looking for a business and not looking to speak with me. What a difference when you can speak with only those looking for your business - not any business - YOUR BUSINESS.

Leadership Series 3 of 3
Can We Really Manage Time?
We left off in the 2cnd of 3 Leadership Series with a great quote
from Robert Kaplan.
John Maxwell wrote a great new book
called Leadership Gold. If you have not read it yet, iet’s a must and
is on our recommended book list at www.chrisprefontaine.com. Let me give you one of the Chapter Titles:
“Don’t Manage Your Time – Manage Your Life”.
I thought this was a perfect time to insert this as we kick off this Leadership Series because it sets up a
foundation for us.
Two thoughts for you:
1.
Time is an equal opportunity
employer. Everybody gets 24 hours a day
but not everyone gets the same return on that same 24 hours.
2.
There is no such thing as time
management.
“But Chris, you’ve talked about time
management in the past.” I know I know – now it’s time to move
things to a deeper level!
See – time management is an
oxymoron. It can’t be managed. It can’t be controlled in any way. Regardless of what you do, it’ keeps moving
and this is regardless of whether or not you’re moving or standing still.
·
No one can save minutes to use tomorrow
·
No one, no matter how smart, can create
new minutes
·
No one, no matter how wealthy, can buy
additional hours
Do you every hear someone say “…I need
to find time to…”. Well, they should
stop looking shouldn’t they? There’s
none lying around. Ok, so if you cannot manage your time, what can you do?
Manage Yourself!
One
of the biggest things that separates successful people from the unsuccessful is
how they use their time. They know where
it goes, they constantly analyze it and they constantly ask themselves, “Am I
getting the best use out of my time?”
One of the signs I have in my office (on an index card) reads “IS WHAT I
AM DOING RIGHT NOW MOVING ME CLOSER TO MY GOALS?”
How
do you personally judge whether something is worthy of your time and
attention? Since we started out with
mentioning John Maxwell and many of my Leadership ideas come from him, below is
a system John uses – a three step procdss – to manage his time most
effectively. I have found it to be a
great check system:
Step
one: Rate the task in terms of
importance.
Critical
= 5 points
Necessary
= 4 points
Important
= 3 points
Helpful
= 2 points
Marginal
= 1 point
Step
two: Decide the task’s urgency.
This
month = 5 points
Next
month = 4 points
This
quarter = 3 points
Next
quarter = 2 points
End
of year =1 point
Step
three: Multipoly the rate of importance
times the rate of urgency. Example: 5
(critical) x 4 (next month) = 20.
This
will help you place your top 5-6 priorities in their place at all times.

Work Environment
It's an interesting profession when you can work with who you like
haying out with, where you like haying out and when you like to work.
Kim and I spent an action filled 3 days with our Bermudian friends and
addressed just under 100 people.
Think real hard about where you're spending your time and with who as you only have so much of that precious asset left!

Leadership Series 2 of 3
Leadership Series 2 of 3
Ok – a few days ago we left
off with the Leadership Series introduction and I was about to give you some
questions to ask yourself because, as I mentioned, it all starts with the
person in the mirror.
In order to properly assess
your performance and stay on track, you should step back and ask yourself
certain key questions.
The first question is: What is my vision and priorities. In other words, what do you see and how are
you going to make it happen? In the day
to day hustle bustle, leaders often fail miserably when it comes to
communicating their vision and, as important, in a way that helps those you’re
working with determine where to focus their own efforts. Oh, by the way, if you’re not running a
company – you’re still a leader somewhere to someone! How about your household? How about your local club? Get the idea?
Your value, for example, in a Network Marketing company (and thus, your
check) is directly related to your ability to add value and lead.
So, here some are some key
questions related to vision and priorities:
- How often to I communicate a vision for my business or life?
- Have I identified and communicated my top three priorities in order to achieve that vision?
- If someone was to ask my team members (employees, distributors, partners, Joint Venture partners, etc.), would they be able to clearly communicate the vision and priorities
Now, if your vision is not
clear, there are zero strategies that will work and it will be virtually
impossible to prioritize things correctly.
Here’s a proper sequence for
you to think through:
- The Vision
- The Strategy
- Prioritize
For example, I am in the
process of sprinting for a new rank advancement and have assembled a group of
5-6 leaders I believe can do the same in a big way and have communicated the
vision. Along with that vision we are
all super clear on the strategy and priorities to execute and hold each other accountable. Point is – 1, 2 and 3 are all necessary. 1 cannot go without 2 or 3…and 2 and 3 cannot
go without 1.
A thought from Robert S.
Kaplan:
A common pitfall in articulating a
vision is a failure to boil it
Down to a manageable list of
initiatives. Culling the list involves
Thinking through and then making
difficult choices and trade-off
Decisions. These choices communicate volumes to your
people
About how they should be spending their
time.
We’ll continue our discussion
on leadership in a few days…
Bermuda Launch
Kim and I have worked with the Bermudians for three years and they are all amazing people. The group that has been assembled in the last two weeks, however, is quite amazing. The first night was a social meet and greet followed by a training Sunday morning at 11am with 20+ core Retailers in the room. Sunday night they packed the room with 40+ people at 4:30. This week will be quite the week for Bermuda.
Tomorrow morning at 9am we will present to 15-20 pastors that the Bishop has sent a letter to endorsing CieAura and then another evening meeting.

Show Me The Formula
I speak and train over and over and over again that what we do is duplicatable. Why doesn't everyone have the same result then? Well, those willing to follow the formula certainly are and those that aren't willing...well, they just are not - period.
Congratulations to Saadia Bean, owner of Family Intimacy Center on the beautiful island of Bermuda for achieving Four Star and climbing her way up the bonus scale. She will be another to break the $3000 mark within 30 days and the 2cnd on island to break $1500 in 1st 30!
There are many formulas, but check your daily activity against this proven daily formula:

Predictable and with certainty when you follow the formula!
- Study marketing 15-30 minutes daily. We are marketers.
- Connect with 20 (or whatever # supports your goals) people per day. Does "connect" mean talking about your business necessarily? NO - connect, grow your list and then the timing is right, help them challenge or problem.
- 10-15 min meditation daily.
- 10-15 minutes of mindset studying, reading or training including affirmations.

Unless You Think it's a Poor Investment...
...invest in yourself.
I spent most of my morning Sunday studying more about online marketing and how to integrate that with my business. Regardless of what business you're in, how much time are you dedicating to studying & learning about how to maximize your online efforts. I spend at least 20-60 minutes daily. Someone asked me yesterday what one of my frustrations is with the network marketing business. My answer: "The wierd thing is that everyone would LOVE the income and lifestyle and all they have to do is learn it..and everything is learnable yet not everyone puts the time in!"If you asked me as a coach - "What's the absolute best use of my time to learn this stuff?", I would tell you to immerse yourself in THIS UNSTOPPABLE EVENT. Well you're thinking, "That may cost me a lot!". You are your best investment guys, no cutting corners.
If it's all new to you and you're just not sure and would like to get your feet wet, check THIS INTRODUCTORY LINK out and at least take a step forward.
I'm Excited...Now What Do I Say?

Newport Rhode Island
Before I take off to Orlando for a couple private meetings tomorrow with some amazing people, I was thinking that our core launch group in Rhode Island is getting together 18th October Thursday in Middletown. Who do you know that would like to start a project that can add income to their monthly budget and not get in the way of what they're currently doing? Yup, I think I just described 98% of the population!

Power of the Organizer
As we are
rolling into the last quarter, I got to thinking about the Power of the Organizer. All
successful people I’ve had the pleasure of shadowing, coaching or simply
speaking to have one common thread – they are great organizers. Organizers of resources, people, time, money,
energy, etc.. Today more than ever the Power of the Organizer is much more
important than a lot of other traits.
This is mainly because the cost of doing business everywhere has really
increased: the cost to pay help, to do
mailings, etc…the cost just to operate.
Tom Monohan
of Dominos Pizza was quoted saying “You know we could have 9,000 units instead
of 3,000 units just as easily. The only
thing stopping us is we can’t get anybody to work to deliver the pizzas.”
When I ran
across that quote it made me think a little about all of the ventures that Kim
and I have been involved in over the years compared to CieAura. … some with only minimal to no results. In the real estate business, for example, we were teaching others what we know in the
residential investment field. We had 3-5
of us working on it and we were able to sell our services (coaching, really) to
a few individuals and it was just OK.
Now, that sucked up inordinate amounts of time and resources and I would
say we were not in the Power Organizer category.
From
2008-2012 we built a team in 15 Countries that numbered almost 30,000 from all
around the world that tirelessly worked on a common mission – that dwarfed
anything that we had originally tried to do in real estate and other ventures. Well, we cannot take all the credit for it
and can only point to the team leaders and the systems that were in place - super
organized and system driven. It’s a game
plan Guys that does not allow us to waste any resources whatsoever and remain
extremely organized. This is so
systematic that when we left that company because of internal integrity issues
with the management, we started replicating the same thing with a far superior
company and in just 6 weeks have just under 1000 people in our organization in
several different Countries.
See, the Power of the Organizer is not to be
taken lightly. When you look at your day
right now, are you maximizing absolutely every resource…or are some being
wasted? Are you super organized? Are you engaged ONLY in high payoff
activities? I.e. Real Estate: prospecting, followup, listing appointments,
etc.. In CieAura it’s sharing the amazing opportunity and the amazing product line in a capacity that supports your goals (2/day,
3/day, 5/day), it’s presenting (1/1, 2/1, webinars, in homes), follow up,
learning skills, etc..
Be the super Organizer and stay systems driven.
